We drove over 5 hours outside of Portland to stay at Summer Lake, a huge, beautiful lake in the desert of Oregon. There are no cities for miles and miles and the night sky was a dome over our heads. We camped in freezing temperatures but we have cold weather gear and were toasty and warm all night. This resort features an old hot springs bath house on the property… you can camp on the grounds or stay in cabins. Either way, it’s worth the drive.
